The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully...
Psalm 52:2
The LORD'S ninth Commandment
Exodus
20:16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
The power of the tongue.
The power of words.
The power of truth.
The power of lies…
The words we choose to speak everyday always leave a trail and they always start from the same place.
What we feel inside, our hearts, our emotions, wind their way into our brains and float right out of our mouths.
We are human, we have feelings and we can't control what we feel let alone what we say...
Wrong.
As a wise woman did say, feelings aren't truth. Let that soak in…
When we allow ourselves to live in our flesh we are separated from truth, His Truth. When we live in our flesh we are ruled by emotion instead of the Commandments, integrity and logic. When we live in our flesh we are selfish, leaving no room for the Holy Spirit to see to His will being done.
See, the LORD made us perfectly capable of following His Commandments and that includes being honest. BUT of course it's so hard, it's impossible, it's crazy to think we can achieve that level of perfection! …..
I'll wait till the accountability kicks in…
Okay phew! Nope and nope! God does not make mistakes, He is perfect and so is His plan, the plan that says you can and will be forthcoming, honest, full of honor and integrity and willing to be ACCOUNTABLE, if you love Me and wish to be with Me.
We must live in our spirits friends, that is where He is. That is truth. No amount of sinful reward, no selfishness, no ignorance of accountability and no just this once... these things, these excuses to bear falsely with our brothers and sisters is literally our flesh LYING to us!
We are lying to ourselves people..
Psalm
55:21 The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.
Jeremiah
9:8 Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbour with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait.
There's those feelings again!
God calls His children to be honest, to be servants of His truth. How useful and worthy shall He count us to be after this earth if we are liars? If we will say beautiful truths with a lying heart? If we have no accountability, no control over our bodies?
1 Kings
8:56 Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.
In hebrew, the word liar or lie can mean fail. It means the Truth really will set you free, it will uphold you and will never lie to you...this is GOD.
He will never deceive us and He will never fail us, lies cannot come from Truth.
We must know Him, we must love Him and treasure this gift of His Holy Commandments that are there for us! Not for Him in any way...always for us. What a beautiful Father we have.
Guard your heart so that your spirit may lead… your flesh will surly follow. Tell the truth. Love the Father as He loves you.
Remember, should you choose to forgo that beautiful gift our Father so freely gives, this father is always recruiting...
John
8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Possession is nine tenths of the law...
God's eighth Commandment
Exodus
20:15 Thou shalt not steal.
Choosing to take that which does not belong to you.
This commandment runs much deeper than stealing candy or never returning that library book.
Taking that which is not yours is something man does everyday. See, all things belong to God. We are blessed with this life and everything in it. When we do not put everything before the LORD in thanks, we are stealing. We are holding these things, life, love, possessions, EVERYTHING as our own, as if we are so entitled.
When we truly get to the heart of the matter, we are able to see how dishonest we are with the LORD, others, as well as with ourselves. God surely wants more from His children. If we are to be useful to Him beyond this life, we must have His will as our own, He must be able to trust us.
We all fall short of the glory of God. Judas stole the money (John 12:6). Achan stole precious metals, compromising God's plan and changed the future for the Israelites. David stole Bathsheba and murdered her husband in the process (2 Samuel 11) and Ananias (Acts 5) and his wife had promised to turn over money for land they sold but chose in secret, to keep back an amount for themselves, stealing what was already promised elsewhere.
All of these examples and many more, are times when the flesh of man spoke louder than his spirit and in one way or another, they all paid a price for that choice, as we all will.
Whether it be stealing possessions, enabling those who have, taking someone's spouse or even taking a life (Matthew 27), the LORD does know and He will deal with us all in His time.
He loves us. He knows he made us for better and yes, He will see us through our worst. If we repent, overcome and rebuke our flesh daily and live for HIS will.
Proverbs
10:2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
Remember, God will allow for testing of His children, pruning and molding for our own sake as well as His. We must listen to that still small voice and be mindful of every single choice we make.
God is surely listening AND so is the greatest thief of all… and he wants to steal your soul.
John
10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

The Scarlet Letter
God's seventh Commandment
Exodus 20:14
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Galatians
5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
Oh the flesh of man, there is no greater tool than that of the body to bring you closer to God or to tear your soul apart.
In today's society, we accept adultery to mean having extra marital affairs. There is indeed a much larger picture, because it is God of course!
Adultery, as referenced in God's Word does pertain to having sexual relations outside of one's marriage but also so much more.
Adultery, in it's most raw form, is being unfaithful. It is breaking your commitment, being dishonorable and turning your back on your own word.
God's Word sadly shows us just how many times and in oh so many ways, man has chosen be unfaithful and full of adultery.
Within marriage
Proverbs
6:32 But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
God's chosen lineages
Psalm
78:55 He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
78:56 Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies:
78:57 But turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.
And even an entire nation
Jeremiah
3:8 And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.
3:9 And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
There are many ways in which we bring adultery before God. When we choose our flesh, when we walk in our own desires, we are not walking in His Spirit and He cannot (will not) walk in us.
Adultery is not limited to some pronounced action that is made public by any means, remember where the devil lies…
Matthew
5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
We must be mindful, as His children, to abide in spirit all the time. We must be aware of the weakness of the flesh and of the subtleties of satan.
We must remember those that came before us, in much more righteousness than ourselves, and they did often fall prey to adulterous behavior against the LORD.
If we are called to be His, we must desire to fight our flesh and live in spirit. God will not find usefulness in those who will walk unfaithful to Him at the beckoning of the flesh.
1 Corinthians
10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
