Possession is nine tenths of the law...

God's eighth Commandment

Exodus
20:15 Thou shalt not steal.

Choosing to take that which does not belong to you.

This commandment runs much deeper than stealing candy or never returning that library book.

Taking that which is not yours is something man does everyday. See, all things belong to God. We are blessed with this life and everything in it. When we do not put everything before the LORD in thanks, we are stealing. We are holding these things, life, love, possessions, EVERYTHING as our own, as if we are so entitled.

When we truly get to the heart of the matter, we are able to see how dishonest we are with the LORD, others, as well as with ourselves. God surely wants more from His children. If we are to be useful to Him beyond this life, we must have His will as our own, He must be able to trust us.

We all fall short of the glory of God. Judas stole the money (John 12:6). Achan stole precious metals, compromising God's plan and changed the future for the Israelites. David stole Bathsheba and murdered her husband in the process (2 Samuel 11) and Ananias (Acts 5) and his wife had promised to turn over money for land they sold but chose in secret, to keep back an amount for themselves, stealing what was already promised elsewhere.

All of these examples and many more, are times when the flesh of man spoke louder than his spirit and in one way or another, they all paid a price for that choice, as we all will.

Whether it be stealing possessions, enabling those who have, taking someone's spouse or even taking a life (Matthew 27), the LORD does know and He will deal with us all in His time.

He loves us. He knows he made us for better and yes, He will see us through our worst. If we repent, overcome and rebuke our flesh daily and live for HIS will.

Proverbs
10:2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.

Remember, God will allow for testing of His children, pruning and molding for our own sake as well as His. We must listen to that still small voice and be mindful of every single choice we make.

God is surely listening AND so is the greatest thief of all… and he wants to steal your soul.

John
10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

God bless my friends xo
