All that is Desire...

Psalm
119:36 Incline my heart unto thy testimonies, and not to covetousness.

And when we seek His will above all else, only then has faith truly begun…

The LORD'S Tenth Commandment

Exodus
20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

Desire. Attract. Want. Covet.

This is a search your heart commandment all the way. This is the LORD requesting of you to hold no place in your heart for anything separate from His will for you.
See, I have come to understand this particular commandment to be a sort of trust fall, if you will. This is our Father asking you to rise above your flesh, above man's world, above all the feelings we love to give into and fall into the hands of a Father who wants to give you everything you could ever need and more… If you trust Him.

Psalm
37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

We were created to feel, to enjoy and to love. Yes, we are of a God who IS love. He has created us with the ability to desire and to seek fulfillment, it's called free will.

What do we seek though? What are the desires of our hearts? not just in church on Sunday morning desires either… what are your desires when you're waiting in a long line with your little children, when you're co-worker gets that promotion or that new car you were hoping for or when you're at dinner with your husband and that attractive waiter gives you a wink… What. Do. You. Desire…

James
1:14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

AND

1:15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

BUT

1 Corinthians
10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

AS LONG AS

Matthew
6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

God is so good, He has given us the choice. We can desire for His will, trust in Him and have faith that He will fulfill us or we can desire to cuss out the people taking so long ahead of us, sabotage our new supervisor or slip that waiter our number when our husband is in the bathroom.

The point is desire. What do you want? God is literally asking you every minute of every day, what do you desire? Where is your faith? If it is in Him, you will abstain from worldly ways, control your flesh and you will have His will as your heart's desire.

Or you can choose to desire your flesh, this world and the one who desires to watch you destroy yourself.

Mark
7:20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
7:21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
7:22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
7:23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

The LORD is all love, all things good. He calls us to be in the world but not of it.  He would likely want us to be patient with the man that has been helping people all day or be joyous and supportive to our friend that worked hard and got the job and surely He would call us to turn away from and pray for that waiter attempting to catch our eye, he has no idea the damage his selfishness could have caused.

We must desire for His goodness. We must rise above this selfishness and this flesh and find our way home to Him. We must be ever thankful for all of the things we have and are a part of, they are gifts from God. He alone knows us and only He truly knows what is in store for those who believe in Him and live righteously.

Jeremiah
17:10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.

I will leave you with this friends…
you will never find a car, a house, a job or a single man that can tell you these words and mean them.
I love you, I'll want you forever, I will give you everything you can imagine you need and more, I will take care of you, hold you and I will give you a purpose beyond your wildest dreams…
But God can. He already has. His Word is faithful, His promise is Truth. He desires you and me, faithfully.

God bless xo
