When all of Israel had turned from God, David begged the Lord in forgiveness. He pleaded with all his soul, that if only they returned to the One who made them, He would restore their land and their people.
The scripture below is not only describing characteristics of our Lord and His goodness, but also the beauty with which David shared these things is sheer poetry.
Psalm 85:10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
This is our Father people. This is the One who made us. He is truth and oh, He is mercy, Amen. There are many other scripture where we can see these two attributes, if you will, together like we see above.
Psalm 25:10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
Proverbs 16:6 By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.
We would not know Him apart from His truth and we would not exist still, without His mercy. These are the ties that bind. We are so blessed beyond measure for both.
As David says, righteousness and peace, adjoining intimately, in a way only our Father could display, so that we may share in His goodness.
More beautiful words were never spoken to share the loveliness that is our Lord.
May you know His truth, are graced through His mercy and blessed by His goodness abound! xoxo
